a generous endowment from the nobel prize-winning economist professor ronald coase has enabled us to offer new scholarships to study a range of economics courses at the university of buckingham from september 2021.
coase was inspired by his undergraduate economics education and went on to make a major change to the way we look at the world. his radical analysis of markets and firms established whole new areas of economic enquiry: www.nobelprize.org/prizes/economic-sciences/1991/coase/facts/
a long-term friend of the university, his legacy now paves the way for future generations of economics students from all backgrounds to change the future, starting that journey with us.
the coase scholarships have a value of £11,000 for a two year degree. when combined with a uk government student loan this means that you will be able to cover your chosen course tuition fees.
up to 14 scholarships are available per academic year and cover a range of economics programmes starting in january and september each year.
to qualify for the scholarship, an application to one of the following programmes listed below is required. shortlisted candidates may be asked to interview in person or via skype.
university of buckingham coase scholars can follow one of the following degree programmes which start in january and september each year:
- business economics
- economics, business and law
- economics (flexible honours)
- philosophy, politics and economics
scholarship candidates must be uk nationals and should have, or expect to achieve, three a-level passes with at least one of these graded at b. women, ethnic minorities and people from lower income backgrounds are especially encouraged to apply.
